Fish For Life

‘Fish for Life’ is our programme to ensure that everyone in Britain can rely on Young’s for responsibly sourced seafood.  It is our guarantee that we will only deal with fisheries and fish farms that meet our stringent criteria – as measured by our own detailed fisheries assessment process and governed by our Ten Principles for Responsible Fish Procurement.

Our business understands that many of the world’s fisheries are in crisis and that as a major player we must play an active role in driving best practice. Applying our Ten Principles, Young’s approach is to engage with government, suppliers, NGOs, retailers and fishermen to help drive improvement. In practice this means we source our fish from those who pursue best practice whilst avoiding or improving those who do not yet meet the exacting sustainability standards we set.

This approach has helped Young’s to win a number of important awards, including the Seafish Award for Outstanding Achievement and a Major Commendation in the Business Commitment to the Environment Awards.

Fish is Good for You

Advice from the Food Standards Agency suggests that everyone should eat two portions of fish a week for health - one of which should be oily. We aim to make this easy - with delicious seafood products that help everyone to enjoy more fish, more often.
