Our Spey Valley Smokehouse has been practising the art of curing and smoking salmon for generations using the same age old methods.

People from all over the world visit our Smokehouse, deep in the heart of the picturesque Spey Valley. We are renowned for the creation of Smoked Salmon just as it should be.

The specialist knowledge of our highly experienced and dedicated team, led by Jack, our master smoker, has been used to create what we believe is the world's best smoked salmon.

The history of salmon smoking in the Spey Valley has been preserved with traditional smoking methods that have been handed down from generation to generation. The Smokehouse has taken advantage of its beautiful Highland environment and infused it with history, tradition and specialized techniques to produce the very finest Scottish Smoked Salmon.

The Spey Valley Smokehouse not only produces the finest Smoked Salmon to tickle the taste buds of the discerning, it also offers visitors to its Grantown on Spey premises the opportunity to see the process in action.

Our Smokehouse was originally based in Cromdale but due to demand outstripping supply of the original Spey Valley Smoked Salmon, a new premises was required. A new Smokehouse with viewing gallery and shop was built in 1995 and opened by the Princess Royal, Princess Anne.

The new Smokehouse nestles just off the banks of the River Spey, idyllically positioned on the Malt Whisky Trail (A95), just outside Grantown on Spey.

The Spey Valley Smokehouse supplies many top quality retail outlets, hotels and restaurants, including world famous establishments such as Harrods, Jenners and The Ritz.
