Over 200 Years of Seafood Heritage 1960-1999 |

Amid the wake of demobilisation, unemployment, power cuts, and shortages of everything from food to pre-fab housing and utility furniture, with the same foresight as in an earlier age, the Young group of companies as it had now become, invested its faith and its finance in freezing techniques.
This set the scene for an era of expansion, that in little more than a decade was to see the Group emerge at the very forefront of seafood – that is frozen seafood producers of Britain.
In the early 1960’s, cuts in rail services had a devastating effect on Young’s distribution network. This meant establishing a network of sales depots throughout the country for road distribution. |
